A New WHAM! Documentary is Coming: "Wham! 10 Days in China"

Wham! 10 Days in China tells the story of the first Western pop group to perform in communist China. It uses newly restored and never-before-seen archive footage, along with new interviews with Andrew Ridgeley, to show what happened during the band’s visits to Beijing and Guangzhou. The concerts were an important cultural moment as they introduced Western pop music to Chinese audiences for the first time.

Director Mike Christie said: “The existence of this footage has been a mystery for years, spoken about in fragments but never truly seen. The story of the tour is intensely dramatic and finding a way to tell it in a form that the Wham! collective felt was finally worth pursuing has been a real honour.”

The 90-minute documentary was made by Supercollider, part of Zinc Media Group, for Sony Music Entertainment. White Light is handling international distribution.
